Here is a quick, easy and versatile dinner that my family enjoys. I don't really have a name for it except "beans and hamburger." Don't let the simplicity fool you.
When I say versatile I mean versatile!
Ground beef (any amount will do)
Can(s) of beans *Bushe's beans, pork and beans* experiment with the flavors!
Seasonings (bbq sauce, brown sugar, Lawry's seasoning, cinnamon, vanilla flavoring just a few)
Ground the beef and drain
Add the beans
Add seasoning of your choice
Simmer for 10 minutes
Add rice as a side
The thing about the seasoning is simple, you can do sweet (cinnamon and vanilla with brown sugar) or you can do something spicy (bbq sauce with Lawry's Seasoning with a hint of brown sugar) or something with just Lawry's Seasoning!
Trust me, its filling, nutritious and works in a pinch. Give it a try. And don't forget, its CHEAP ;p
A candid walk from just getting by to thriving in a world that's gone chaotic and crazy! Living a more spiritual life and creating a stress-free, debt-free life!

Signs that Your Living on the Financial Edge
You may be living your financial life on the edge IF…
*IF you live paycheck to paycheck
*IF your overdraft is so large that half (if not all) of your paycheck is taken up to pay for it.
*IF you have to constantly call the utility companies to make payment arrangements in order to keep your lights/water/phone on.
*IF you avoid showing your spouse the check register because you KNOW that its going to lead to another argument.
*IF you have a heart’s desire to pay tithes to your church but finding yourself coming up short every Sunday because if you write ONE more check, your account is going into the negative. Again.
*IF birthdays, anniversaries and holidays roll by and your financially strapped AGAIN because you didn’t plan accordingly (and we know this stuff comes up EVERY YEAR!)
Any one or more of the above items means that you ain’t living right, LOL! No, I’m not talking about spiritually or morally, but most definitely financially. Ask me how I know… My goal is to see that this NEVER happens to us again. How bout you?
Sick and Tired of Being Broke
I have to ask. At what point in your life do you just say, "I'm tired of this crap, I want a more fulfilling life where I have more control of my circumstances rather than being controlled by my circumstances?" Well ya'll, I'm there. Really and truly there! I want so much more for myself and my family. I don't mean things, I mean quality of life, the ability to say no and to not be forced into doing things (taking on extra hours at work, extra debt, leaving the home to work in order for those ends to touch...) I want FREEDOM!!! And I plan do do everything outside of lie, cheat and steal to get it.
The journey I take is holistic.I don't just want to fix one part of my life because one thing going awry is a precursor to the domino effect. No more of that. I'm breaking out my bible and my budgeting tools and I'm heading down a path to inner prosperity and I'm dragging my family along for the ride!
My blog will chronicle my journey towards a more people friendly family centered life where we won't have to work ourselves into an early grave to pay our mortgage or spend our declining years as a Walmart people greeter, LOL! IF we decide to work at Walmart it would be because we WANTED to, no because we HAD to!
Join me for my journey and we can encourage each other with prayers, scripture and sound financial advise. I will tell you straight off the bat that I am no couponer. I can't go there. I don't see the need to stockpile 200 bottles of body wash and ketchup, but that's another post for another time.
Welcome to my new home!
